Happy Monday, everyone!  It’s been a long time coming, but we’re excited to finally be sharing Leslie and Todd’s gorgeous Turks and Caicos destination wedding at Beaches in Providenciales!   A little background on Leslie and Todd…I met them back in 2010 (before Carolina and I had teamed up for weddings) for one of the most unique engagement shoots I’ve ever done, on a sailboat!  (We were also super excited that it was published on the fabulous Brooklyn Bride blog!)  They chose a nautical theme to go along with their plans of traveling to the islands for their wedding, and as it turns out, they ended up having their wedding reception on a large catamaran out at sea!  Kinda perfect, we think.  🙂

The sad part (for me) was that Carolina had to stay home in Tampa to shoot another wedding we had booked, so I had to go this one alone.  I was bummed not to have my buddy there, especially since it was such a long distance to travel and was such a cool location!  (Thank goodness for Skype!  LOL)

We hope you enjoy these images from their spectacular wedding weekend!

Beaches Resort is absolutely gorgeous, and you can’t help but feel relaxed the moment you step onto the property and are greeted by a staff member with a friendly smile, cold towel and even colder drink!

Friday morning held plenty of adventure for the wedding party, guests and family.  There was sailing, kayaking, snorkeling and swimming out in the gorgeous blue waters.  The best part was watching the skeptical looks of those on shore watching first timers try their hand at sailing!

After lunch, Leslie and her bridesmaids headed to the Red Lane Spa (how funny if it had been Blue Lane!) for some much needed pampering and pedicures.  (Leslie and Todd are both podiatrists and work at a local Tampa hospital, so of course it was absolutely necessary to have their toes in top shape!)

The rehearsal dinner on Friday evening couldn’t have been any more perfect.  The weather was spectacular for an outdoor meal served on their own private pavilion overlooking the ocean.

Just as the sun was peeking perfectly behind the trees in a warm golden glow, we stepped out for a few pre-wedding day portraits.

As the sun faded, everyone headed out to party at one of the resort’s nightclubs…and I went to bed to prepare for the big day ahead!

As Saturday dawned, we were met with some clouds and tiny waves of rain…not what you hope for your Caribbean island wedding!  Thankfully it just sprinkled a little bit, and we were still able to get outside for some photos before the ceremony!  Leslie’s dress was just perfect…simple, elegant and flowing.

I found Todd in his room playing Monopoly with the guys as they got dressed…I guess nothing beats the feeling of purchasing a hotel or two before walking down the aisle!

Meanwhile, Leslie was back at the spa getting her final hair and makeup touches.  She looked absolutely stunning!

The birdcage veil was my favorite!

After a quick “mini boudoir” session (to be ready for a Valentine’s Day surprise for Todd!), Leslie got dressed with the help of her mother and two closest friends.  I love how happy and proud her mom looks!

The tears in her father’s eyes as he saw her as a bride for the first time almost made me cry, too.

What would be the perfect gift for a podiatrist to give to her bridesmaids?  Why, jeweled foot accessories, of course!

With truly perfect timing, the sun popped out from behind the clouds for a few minutes just in time for Leslie and Todd’s first look.  (Okay, so Todd kind of accidentally saw Leslie BEFORE the first look…he was a little early to our rendezvous point and we hadn’t quite hidden Leslie from sight yet!  So technically this was the “second look,” but still just as sweet!)

The ceremony site overlooked the bright blue waters of the Caribbean, but more clouds threatened to cover the sunshine…

In a moment that I know Leslie will never forget, the sun broke through the clouds just as she came through the doors on her way to meet Todd at the altar!

I love this shot of the bridal party on the beach!

Yes, more feet!

We had some time to just walk around the property and get some gorgeous portraits before the reception, and the light and location couldn’t have been better!  I love the feeling that these two could be the only ones on the island.

And now….party time!  They rented a huge catamaran for the afternoon and well into the evening.  So much fun!

Their first dances were so sweet…

It was crazy windy out on the front of the boat!

How cool would it be to go snorkeling and swimming on the afternoon of your wedding day with all of your closest friends and family?  YES!  SO COOL!

And don’t forget the slide!

The boat captain surprised everyone with a side trip to Iguana Island, where everyone wandered around hunting for the famous iguanas that live here…not sure if any were seen, but it was a blast nonetheless!

There was a perfect view of the sunset from an observation tower on the tiny island.

Love this shot of everyone on the catamaran!

Speeches were made and toasts given…

…and then the party REALLY got started!  (And these people can party!!)  The music turned up, the dancing got going and the party rocked until we reached land once more.

I can’t say enough about how awesome Leslie and Todd and their families are, or how much fun I had spending the weekend with them and their friends!  It was such an honor and I’m so happy to know such great people.  Our next project is working on their wedding album, and I can’t wait!  Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Brennan!!
